I think I have underestimated how lonely blogging can be.
Most of the advice I come across about how to blog consistently is from people who have already figured it out; people who know how to make blogging work for themselves, and are already making money from it. It’s so easy to compare myself to these big blogs and wonder if it’s not too late, if the era of blogging is not dead and if I should have started blogging when I was younger and when blogging seemed easier.
So, instead of seeking advice, I have been searching for other small bloggers like me; People who are just starting out like me and who are still trying to figure out how to do it well. And I’m glad I did.
I found some small blogs that feel super personal, and reading them made blogging feel less lonely.
Diaries of a girl
Even though there is only one post on this blog, the thought about being lost in your 20s is something I resonate with deeply.
There’s something exciting about being early to a project. I like being “early to the party,” watching something grow, experimenting with it, and seeing where it might go. So I’ll definitely keep checking for more posts on this blog.

Things That Gets You Through
I discovered this blog randomly on r/blogs, and one post made me feel like I’m not alone in the world. Getting into your twenties is definitely one of the most confusing stages of life. And I resonate so much with the feeling of being lost and seeing people have projects, goals and and feeling life is moving super slow for you.
Miss Secret Garden
A sweet little blog about fashion and the life of a 19-year-old girl who is just living her life. It actually gives me nostalgia for when blogging was about reading someone else’s digital diary.
Tightrope High
This blog has a wonderful collection of short essays about growth, staying human in a fast-paced world and going through life’s uncertainties. This is the type of blog I visit when I want to read someone else’s thoughts about life, and get something to think about throughout the day.
Quiet Rise
A sweet comfort blog about self-growth, mindfulness and gentle living.
Wrapping up
One of the things that I’ve learned from reading these blogs is that the more I read, the more I feel inspired to write myself. I also appreciate the fact that those blogs do not have ads and look clean and simple; it’s just about reading.
Take a look at those blogs and, if you want, tell me in the comment section which one inspires you.
’til next time
Xoxo,
Neïla
